Most people give a peptide serum three days, see nothing dramatic, and quit.
That is the wrong timeline.
Cosmetic peptides like GHK-Cu, SNAP-8 and Glutathione are not instant filters. They are daily-use actives. You judge them the same way you judge a good moisturiser or SPF: consistency, not one “wow” morning.
A realistic timeline
• Week 1: Skin often feels smoother and more hydrated. Makeup can sit better. This is mostly hydration and barrier feel, not a full “before and after”.
• Weeks 2–4: Texture and glow usually become easier to notice. Glutathione formulas are often where brightness and a more even-looking tone start to show.
• Weeks 4–8: This is the window for the look of firmer, more refined skin with GHK-Cu, and softer-looking expression lines with SNAP-8.
• After 8 weeks: Keep going. Peptide routines work best as a habit, not a 10-day experiment.
Individual results vary. Skin type, sleep, sun, and whether you actually apply the product every day all change the outcome.
Why people think “peptides don’t work”
They use too much product and it pills.
They rub instead of press.
They layer acids, retinoids and peptides in a rush and irritate the skin.
They skip SPF.
They change the whole routine every week.
Peptides need a clean, simple stack and time.
How to use Rlabs serums so you give them a fair test
Morning
1. Cleanse
2. Glutathione Serum — 2–4 drops, press in
3. SNAP-8 + GHK-Cu Serum on forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet
4. Glutathione Cream
5. SPF
Night
1. Cleanse
2. SNAP-8 + GHK-Cu Serum
3. Glutathione Cream
Wait 30–60 seconds between layers. Do not drag around the eyes. If you use a strong acid or retinoid, keep it on alternate nights until your skin is settled.
What each peptide is doing in that window
• GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1): the “skin looks firmer, smoother, more repaired” peptide.
• SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3): helps soften the look of lines from facial movement.
• Glutathione: antioxidant support for a brighter, more even-looking complexion.
Same trio as last week’s routine post. Different question: when should you expect to see anything.
How to judge progress without overthinking it
Take one photo in the same light, same time of day, week 0, week 4 and week 8.
Look at texture, brightness and the lines you notice when you talk — not at a 10x zoom selfie at midnight.
